Meteor Crater or Barringer Crater is the most preserved crater on Earth because of the dry desert enviroment in Arizona. Also it occured only 50,000 years ago. Nearly a mile wide, it is easy to spot from the air. This crater has an interesting human history as back in the early 1900's people began to understand for the first time that Earth has been hit by very big objects from space.
