Gallery 2 - A Pilot's View > Aerial Landscapes > Circle Crops
While flying over the arid flat plains of the southwest, one cannot help but notice the interesting patterns of circle fields or what we like to call circle crops. These patterns are due to the central pivot irrigation of the fields. This image was taken in September after the monsoons when everything was green and growing well.
Kansas is mostly a very flat and dry state and circle crops as far as the eye can see. Most of these fields have been harvested except for a few in the middle.
Some are much larger than others.
