M81 (also known as NGC 3031 or Bode's Galaxy) is a spiral galaxy about 12 million light-years away in the constellation Ursa Major. It's a very large grand-design spiral that is one of the great showpiece galaxies in the northern sky. In the center of the galaxy, there is a supermassive black hole the size of 70 million suns.
